I’ve had a wide and varied career path including restaurant manager, newspaper advertising, lettings manager and food broker for the airline industry, but there has always a creative itch that I’ve had. Whether it was making my daughters first smock dress (sorry Holly) or the mouse nativity set thats still in use to this day!
Created with love, patience and a passion for perfection.
A little piece of my heart and soul in each creation.
Finally found my
passion for leather craft
Being creative
My mother was a seamstress and window dresser, and she claims that is where I get my creativity from. Before leather, I have spent many years making silver jewellery and the fascinating dichroic glass making. Having turned my attentions to Leather I started hand stitching, then moving on to my first leather sewing machine – a second hand Mulberry machine no less. I can now conjure up my own designs and patterns and hope you like what you see on my website.
I love the challenge of
bespoke commissions.
I started Bark and Banter back in 2014, umpteen sets of scissors and scribes ago and many a notepad filled with handbag designs, dog collars and challenges from my customers. I think I have sent dog collars to 43 of the 52 states in America, and to all continents apart from the antarctic. I have sold more handbags than I ever thought possible and love the challenge of bespoke requests.
I hope you enjoy my website, and if this has inspired you, do sign up to one of my introductory courses.
